Rachel A. - North Carolina
Hi
there, my name is Rachel, I am 14, and I attended Centrifuge last week -
guess who the pastor was? Yeah, it was Jon. I went to Fuge in a state of
confusion, and I was seriously looking for answers. Over the past year or
so I have had role models and coaches that I considered role models, and
that I looked up to. Did they seem to lead good lives and have fun while
doing it? Yeppers. Were they Christians? Nope. I figured that if people
could lead a good life and have fun then they didn't need God. I
approached my bible study leader, Nick, with a few questions and he asked
me if I would be willing to talk with Jon, the camp pastor. What was there
to lose? Not a thing, or so I thought. Three nights in a row I met with
Jon and Nick for a "question and answer" session in which both
Jon and I asked and answered each others questions. What I lost during
this past week was my "secure grip on reality" that had taken a
year to build. I was seven when I had been baptized and the reason I made
a decision then was because I wanted to go to heaven. (more) |
