For many years I have been a chaperone for our church's youth trips.  I have been to Centrifuge or Mission Fuge for the past 7 years, and each year I am challenged and greatly encouraged in my walk with Christ.  This year at Centrifuge at Union University, I was amazed at what God was doing not only in our youth's lives, but in the chaperone's.  By the time I arrived at Union, I was exhausted emotionally and mentally, as I am the primary caregiver for my mom who has been ill for some time.  The power of God through Jon's messages was palpable.  I was challenged by his preaching and presentation of God's word.  By the end of the week, I didn't know what to expect in our worship services.  All I can say is, on Friday night, God showed up and lives were forever changed.  Jon gave the invitation by making sure all the house lights were up, no music playing and everyone quietly praying, eyes up toward the stage.  He challenged everyone by saying if they wanted to accept Christ, it must be real and with their heart, not an emotional decision.  As I sat there in the silence, praying, I saw teenager after teenager get up, and start down toward the stage.  What courage it showed as they followed God's leading.  (more)
