went to Centrifuge at Carson Newman College this past summer. Jon Gillis was the pastor of the camp. Upon arriving at camp, I was a little down and out because of a bad relationship I was in. This week at camp changed the rest of my life. I was engaged and I had been seeing the same guy for three years. One day I was in the cafeteria, and I saw Jon and he looked at my hand and said, "What is that?" After that, I started thinking, is this really what God wants for my life. I talked to Jon and I honestly felt like God was talking to me through him. Everything Jon told me, brought peace to my heart. I knew that I needed to end the relationship before I even talked to him, Jon practically read my mind and he helped me through this hard time. After I got home from camp, in my heart I knew what I should do. Did I do it? Of course not. I thought that maybe my boyfriend would change. For about a month, I was completely unhappy. I stayed in touch with Jon and he continued to offer me words of wisdom and praying for me. In September, my horrible relationship finally ended. It was the best thing that has ever happened to me.
