I went
to Centrifuge at Carson Newman College this past summer. Jon Gillis was
the pastor of the camp. Upon arriving at camp, I was a little down and out
because of a bad relationship I was in. This week at camp changed the rest
of my life. I was engaged and I had been seeing the same guy for three
years. One day I was in the cafeteria, and I saw Jon and he looked at my
hand and said, "What is that?" After that, I started thinking,
is this really what God wants for my life. I talked to Jon and I honestly
felt like God was talking to me through him. Everything Jon told me,
brought peace to my heart. I knew that I needed to end the relationship
before I even talked to him, Jon practically read my mind and he helped me
through this hard time. After I got home from camp, in my heart I knew
what I should do. Did I do it? Of course not. I thought that maybe my
boyfriend would change. For about a month, I was completely unhappy. I
stayed in touch with Jon and he continued to offer me words of wisdom and
praying for me. In September, my horrible relationship finally ended. It
was the best thing that has ever happened to me. (more) |
