I was born to a sixteen-year-old, unwed mother on January 29, 1986, at Easley Baptist Hospital in Easley, South Carolina. My mother & I lived with my grandparents on a farm in Pickens, South Carolina for the first two years of my life. Then, in 1988, my family moved me to Tryon, North Carolina to protect me from my father and his family. I have not seen or heard from him since. 

My mother and I lived with my grandparents until she got married in 1991, then she and I moved in with my stepfather. I only lived there for about six months. I was so miserable that I got my mother to let me live with my grandparents. Both of my grandparents are devout Christians, so I received a lot of godly instruction from them both. 

My grandmother and I are especially close, and she has always been faithful to teach me about the Lord. Thanks to her guidance, and the grace of God, I realized that I needed Jesus Christ as my personal Lord & Savior. (more)
