Jamie S. - South Carolina

Hi everyone. My name is Jamie Shirley and I am a freshman at Southern Wesleyan University in Central, SC.  My friend Allison Daniel sent an email to me telling me about E Life Ministries and I thought that I would come and share a little about myself and what God has done in my life.  Usually, I don't like to give my testimony. I have been a Christian ever since I was five years old. Some times that just doesn't seem like a whole lot. I don't have any amazing stories to tell you. I wasn't "brought back" from a life of partying or anything like that. But I do know what it is like to have to lean on God.

By late first semester of my senior year in high school, I still had not decided on a college. Needless to say, I had lots of pressure on me! Well, I took a trip with some friends to visit a college that I thought I wanted to go to. It was a Christian college that had much to offer. Many of my friends also went there. Well, I got there and I visited and sat in on their BSU (Baptist Student Union) and I started to cry. Everything was going wrong. I totally hated being there. Not because I didn't like the school.
