I
wasn't born into a Christian home. I went to my grandmother's church once
when I was about 9, and a lady there kind of convinced me to say the
prayer of salvation. That was kind of a joke. After that day, it never
crossed my mind to live for God. When I was about 11 or 12, I became an
atheist. Nobody could convince me otherwise. I used to get so angry at my
parents because they would tell me that I would be sorry if I was wrong
about God, when they weren't living it either. When I was 13 (October 1,
1999), I heard that a girl named Laura wanted to talk to me. So I called
her, expecting more of the preaching that I had been hearing from my
friends for a while. But she didn't try to force me to understand, she
just answered my questions patiently. So that night I accepted Jesus. I
went from a being a staunch nonbeliever to a Christian in a few hours.
Well, I lived like it for about 2 days. Sure, I was going to church and
doing my thing on Sundays and Wednesdays, but the rest of my week was just
that. Mine. It took me about 18 months to give it all to God. (more) |
